Happy Thursday, New Song!
A couple of quick notes for you all:
I’m looking forward to what God has in store for us this Sunday. I was asked this past Sunday what it was like to have to preach the “angry” passages of Scripture (ie. the Minor Prophets) and my response was – humbling. It is amazing to know that my choices affect the heart of God. It is humbling to know that even though I choose to serve my self, my idols, He still loves me, and still calls me back.
Speaking of idols, we will jump back into our Living Truth series American IdolsSunday at 10:45 in the Sanctuary. Our first week got off to a great start, and the discussion was a blast. Even if you missed week 1, join us for week 2 of this 3 (or 4) week series.
Be looking for some announcements and communication about our upcoming pictorial directory. I promise, I’ll do my hair all nice for my picture.
I’ve just made a huge change in technology for the blog and twitter feeds, so be looking for some catch up posts (like outlines to Hosea and Joel) in the next few days.
This Sunday is Sanctity of Life Sunday, so we will spend some time in our service making specific application to it. Also, there will be opportunities for you to become an active participant in the lobby after the service.
I hope many of you, if not all of you, are continuing in the reading program. If you aren’t, or you’ve fallen behind, don’t worry…next week is a GREAT time to get into it. The challenge: read each Minor Prophet twice in a week. Next week’s prophet: Obadiah, all 21 verses of it. I think you can do it!!!
A reminder, if you have questions from your reading of Amos this week, fire them my way via email. I’ll be posting the answers to the blog tomorrow.
And finally, below is the link to the songs for this Sunday. Click the link, and then click on “Play All.” I will go back to the media player once I can get it working again! Enjoy!
